Blonde Hair into Brown Using a Filling Technique

How to take blonde hair and transform it into a brown hair shade using a filling technique.

In this video, I show you how I take blonde hair and transition it into brown hair using a filling technique, all while keeping some blonde highlights throughout.

This was done in two easy steps.

1️⃣Fill the hair with 8G/7NB 1:2 9Vol

My end goal is a cool natural level 6 so I’m not going to add any orange or red in this formula. Gold is my primary and NB has the proper amounts of all primary colors at a level 7.

Tip: Fill the hair a level above your desired end formula.

2️⃣Apply the final shade!

I used 6N 1:2 9Vol as my base and since I LOVED how the full formula turned out, I used Clear in Demi to diffuse the line between 6N into the fill formula in the foil.

Tip: use clear in Demi if you want to preserve the color that the hair already is. This will dilute whatever formula you use at the root and blend it down to clear!
