In this video, I show you how to highlight hair using minimal foils for a maximum impact. I only use 13 foils! This placement for highlights is a mixture of a wearable money piece and diagonal forward teasylights on the sides.
End Goal:
This look is perfect for any client who is going for a more rooted look, but still wants a pop of brightness around the face. Teasylights are perfect for creating a rooted look. You can easily modify this foiling technique based on your client’s end goal.
Foil Placement:
For my foil placement, I used babylights around the hairline for the bright money piece. However, on the sides and the top I used a combination of teasylight slices and a zig-zag horizontal parting. This placement technique will give you maximum brightness throughout the hair.
This is one of my favorite foiling techniques to do because it is quick, easy and the end result is stunning! Not only will your client be grateful that she is in and out, but it also gives you the opportunity to fit another client on your books. Remember, time is money!
Products:
For this tutorial, I used all @kenraprofessional products.
For the lightener, I used Simply Blonde Beyond Bond Lightener with a 1:2 mixing ratio and 20 Volume developer. I love using this lightener because it up to 9+ levels of lift. It has a Dual-bond technology within the lightener.
For my Final Glaze formula, I used Demi- Permanent Rapid Toner in SV with a 1:2 mixing ratio. I used a 9 Volume developer for this formula. Rapid toners are easy to use and are specially designed to tone and process in 5 minutes or less.
I decided to style her with Kenra Professional Prime Shampoo and Conditioner because they are both color-safe and they are ideal when styling. I also used Kenra Platinum Blow Dry Spray and Kenra Hot Spray to style.
For the curls, I used a 1 1/4 Marcel Iron to create beautiful bouncy curls. Do you have trouble curling? I created an amazing Upstyling course that teaches you 8 different curling techniques. Link below!
