See how I create a dimensional brunette hair color using two different demi-permanent formulas
In this YouTube video, I show you how to touch-up an eight month grow out with hair painting and finish it off with a dimensional brunette hair color formulation.
This technique was relatively easy and fast to do. My focus was touching up the hairline and top since these are the most visible part of my models hair. This is a great way to save time, especially since she had a ton of hair! Even though we were finishing her off with a deeper shade, adding in the balayage or hair painting helped achieve a dimensional finish.
Formula:
Clay Lightener 1:2 30Vol
I used Kenra Professional Color in Demi Permanent Glaze 5Nb with a 1:2 mixing ratio with 9Vol. I also used 7Nb with a 1:2 mixing ratio with 9Vol developer.
I used 5Nb at the roots and painted it down around 3-4 inches. I then brushed it through with a wide-tooth comb to blend it through. I used 7Nb on the ends to really create that dimension. I decided to leave out the front money piece area so it is brighter around the face.
