Teasylights – Natural Highlights for Hair

Teasylights Natural Highlights and Money Piece Hair

Teasylights are the secret to natural-looking highlights for hair, so what are they?

Teasylights simply put are natural-looking highlights for hair that are teased then painted into a foil. There are tons of questions about teasylights and why you would do them. Sure, you could do babylights or balayage, but there are reasons why you would choose a teasylight technique over another.

What effect will teasylights give vs highlights for hair?

I know I addressed how teasylights create natural-looking highlights for hair already, but they REALLY are natural-looking! Natural hair naturally has highs and lows that appear darker at the root and slightly lighter at the ends. This technique truly gives a sunkissed look or as I like to call it, a rooted babylight effect, that’s customizable for your client.

Teasylights are almost foolproof in the application. The reason is that ONE, they are rooted meaning they are low maintenance, and TWO, there is a soft line of demarcation where the highlight begins.

Won’t teasylights highlight method damage the natural hair?

Let’s get one thing straight. All chemical services can damage hair, but if done correctly and with proper maintenance at home, then no. Just be sure to formulate correctly and use the right tools.

How do you comb out the teased hair?

There are concerns about combing the teased hair out after the color is done processing but I have a method that works great for me. After removing the foils in the bowl, simply rinse and shampoo, then follow up with a good conditioning mask. I personally like using Olaplex #2 or #3, or even Kenra Professional Nourishing Mask, and detangling brush like Framar’s wet brush. Apply the mask then start to detangle with your wet brush from the bottom up. Also, work in sections. This process should take about it 5 to 10 minutes which is the perfect about of time a mask should sit in the hair.

If my client wants a Money Piece will it look good?

YES! As a matter of fact, they complement each other really well.

How much should I charge for this service?

Creating Teasylights for natural highlights for hair can be done in the same amount of time it takes to do a full highlight, but you do want to consider the extra time detangling and the necessary mask. Generally, my salon charges a typical highlight charge of $130, $50 for an Olaplex Treatment, and the gloss/toner $30-$110. This is not including density or extra product. Overall you can expect that for just this service, it’s about $290.
