If you’ve ever stood in front of a shelf full of bleach options and wondered:
“Is BlondMe strong enough to lift dark hair without compromising integrity?”
You’re not alone! This is my Blondme bleach lightener review.
In my latest YouTube video, I put BlondMe bleach lightener by Schwarzkopf to the test on dark hair, and the results might just surprise you.

Why I Tested BlondMe on Dark Hair
As a hairstylist and educator, I’ve worked with a lot of professional lighteners—but I hadn’t used BlondMe in a true color correction scenario until now. I tested it on a level 2 swatch and while the results weren’t too great, I thought I’d give it another go on a real client. There are variables after all, like the natural warmth that comes from your clients head.
This wasn’t just a touch-up or highlight—it was a full-on dark-to-blonde transformation on a stubborn, fragile canvas. The goal? Put BlondMe through a real-world stress test and give you my unfiltered thoughts.
What Is BlondMe Bleach Lightener?

BlondMe Premium Lightener 9+ by Schwarzkopf is a high-performance bleach designed to lift up to 9 levels.
It features:
- Integrated Bond Enforcing Technology (to reduce breakage)
- Up to 9 levels of lift
- Integrated anti-yellow agents
directly neutralise warm
undertones - Suitable for all techniques and
hair bases
Many stylists love it for its powerful lift and built-in bond builder—but how does it perform on very fragile dark hair?
My Honest Review: Does BlondMe Work on Dark Hair?
This is my first impression when I tested it on a level 2 swatch. Here is my BlondMe bleach lightener review, but here is my first: I applied BlondMe to a level 2 swatch using the recommended mixing ratio and 20-volume developer.
Pros:
- Smooth texture—easy to work with
- Nice viscosity– Great for all hair applications
Cons:
- LOTS of swelling in foils
- Not the best lift
Final Result:
BlondMe 9+ successfully lifted the dark hair up to a level 7/8 with minimal damage, making it a good general lightener for stylists who want lift and bond protection in one formula. However, Schwarzkopf Professional reached out to me to give BLONDME another go and test it on a real client and I got completely different results.

Should You Use BlondMe for Hair Color Correction?
If you’re a stylist working with color corrections, dark hair clients, or extreme transformations, BlondMe is worth considering. The built-in bond builder, creamy texture, and strong lift make it a go-to for controlled, high-impact results.
That said, always perform strand tests and manage expectations, especially on previously colored or compromised hair.
Final Thoughts
BlondMe bleach lightener definitely earns its place among top-performing lighteners in the salon. For hairstylists who need a great go-to lightener with serious lift with serious care, this product delivers.
