How to – Dimensional Reverse Balayage

In this video, I show you one of my techniques on how to do a dimensional reverse balayage on blonde hair. My client was really looking to add depth back into her previously lightened hair. With a mix of highlights and depth, I was able to achieve a dimensional end result.

A dimensional reverse-balayage on blonde hair

My client’s hair was pretty blonde, but she was looking to add some dimension back into her hair. However, she still wanted to keep some of the blonde she came in with. A dimensional reverse balayage was perfect for her!

I decided to go through with a foilayage application to bring up the blonde. Then, I did a bright and detailed money piece around the face.

After, I then went through and added depth with color.

Formula using all Kenra Color:

For my lightener, I used Kenra Professional Simply Blonde Beyond Bond Lightener. I used a 1:2 mixing ratio with 20 Volume developer. This lightener is perfect for someone who has previously lightened hair because of its dual bond protection.

The depth formula I used was 7NA with a 1:2 mixing ratio with 9 Volume developer between foils.

The Final Glaze formula that I used was 7NA with a 1:2 mixing ratio and 9 Volume developer into SV Rapid Toner with a 1:2 mixing ratio and 9 Vol developer.

I styled my client with Kenra Professional Blow-dry spray and Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray. I like to use Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray to combat Frizz within the hair. This product is so cool because the effects of this spray will last up to 3 to 4 shampoos. Kenra Professional Blow Dry Spray decreases drying time up to 50%, and it helps protect your hair against the heat from the blowdryer and curling iron.
